Will Tempter speedo work on Savage ?

Friends, Romans, countrymen !
Is there anybody out there who can tell me if the nice retro-look speedo of the Suzuki Tempter works on a Savage ? On the picture I have it looks like the wire is coming from the engine, and the engine is a Savage-engine, so...?
Any help appreciated !
